OUR BEGINNINGS
It was the 1950s. A 14-year-old boy named Juan Llull Juan took his first steps in the working world by selling vegetables. His work was persistent, but at the same time, illuminated by an innate business vision.

In just over three years, this young man went from having one truck to owning four. His fighting spirit led him to diversify his businesses, and at 24, he decided to direct his professional path toward construction

1970
Soon after, he invested in three hotels: Castell de Mar, Playa del Moro, and Don Juan with several partners. In 1970, a dream came true. Juan Llull Juan opened his first tourist establishment as the sole owner: the Hipocampo hotel. From that moment, the family began to grow under the guidance of Don Juan, always supported by his wife, Doña Mª Dolores Sánchez.

1980
Over the years, Hipotels has always focused on the quality of its establishments, the privileged locations of the hotels, and the well-being of both guests and employees, one of the values the company has always nurtured

In the 1970s and 1980s, Hipotels acquired and built new establishments in Cala Millor, never forgetting the brand's hallmark values.

EXCITING CHALLENGE - 1990
In the late 1980s, the company faced a new and exciting challenge: expanding into Andalusia by purchasing land in Chiclana de la Frontera. In 1992, the first hotel, Hipotels Playa La Barrosa, was opened, and in the following years, the spectacular complex that bears the same name was created, which now includes a total of four luxury establishments, with four and five stars. As it has demonstrated throughout its history, Hipotels is constantly renewing its hotel fleet and, today, it is one of the chains that invests the most in the modernisation and efficiency of its facilities.
2000
From 2000 to 2017, Hipotels continued to grow in Mallorca with the acquisition of new hotels and in Cádiz, where there are currently seven establishments. At the turn of the millennium, the company invested in the purchase of the La Geria hotel in Lanzarote and acquired fantastic land on which the large Hotel Natura Palace was built, as well as a luxury residential development and another for social housing. As demonstrated throughout its history, Hipotels is constantly renewing its hotel fleet, and today it is one of the chains that invests the most in modernizing and improving the efficiency of its facilities. At the beginning of the millennium, in Lanzarote, investments were made in the purchase of the La Geria hotel and some fantastic plots of land were bought on which the large Hotel Natura Palace was built and where a luxury residential development and another of social housing were created.

2017
In 2017, the company decided to continue investing in our island, Mallorca, opening two new hotels in Playa de Palma.

One year later, the chain took on a new and exciting challenge, this time overseas: the opening of its first luxury resort in Mexico, Haven Riviera Cancún.

In early 2024, this luxury hotel expanded with 103 new rooms and a convention center, and a new project in Cancún will soon begin, the construction of a second resort, also beachfront.

And what does the future hold?
A new generation fully involved in the different business areas.

María Antonia, Luisa, and Gabriela, the three daughters of Juan and Mª Dolores, continue the project without forgetting its essence: total commitment to customers, employees, and the environment, always staying at the forefront of tourism.
